About the Park

In 1982, Courtney and Hertisene Crenshaw donated the land for Crenshaw Community Park to Elmore County in order to provide an area where community activities could take place. The Crenshaw’s also assisted in securing a Land & Water Conservation Fund Grant to build the park facility.

Crenshaw Community Park is located at 1371 Crenshaw Road in Wetumpka and is open to the public seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to dusk. The park features include a fenced in baseball field with bleachers, a playground for younger children, a basketball court, and a covered pavilion which make it the perfect location for a family reunion or just a fun time with family.

In the fall of 2008 the County built a 40’ x 100’ covered pavilion and block building with a metal roof. The building houses a concession stand, storage room, two handicap accessible rest rooms and janitorial and electrical areas. The concession and storage area have central air and heating. The concession stand features a double stainless steel sink, counter space, water, and electricity. The concession area provides the opportunity to serve refreshments during ball games, summer activities and community events at the park.

When the school year ends the park hosts youth, ranging in age from six to fifteen, in a summer activity program. Counselors coordinate and supervise fun activities designed to help children learn social skills and enrich classroom learning.

Crenshaw Park also serves as a voting center for precinct 0171 and as a Countywide Cleanup Site.

Citizens are welcome to use the park and pavilion on a first come first served basis throughout the summer season without charge or reservation unless the pavilion has been reserved for a party, reunion or other special event. If you wish to reserve the park pavilion or use the warming kitchen, you must obtain rental application approval. To schedule a date at the park, please review the Crenshaw Park Rental Policies and Crenshaw Park Rental Application.
